Anyone can look good on Covid-19 if you fake it.
Iran did just that, reporting 14,000 deaths, when it really had incurred three times that at 42,000 deaths.
It also had finger trouble with its case count which should be close to 450,000 not 278,000.
I am sure Iran is fast becoming its worst enemy. How self-defeating can one get in trying to stiff-upper-lip the world?

The nation was one of the early movers on Covid-19 and tracked a path similar to Spain and Italy, but then seemed to recede.
Not so, after an anonymous report was leaked to the BBC. Iran is now squarely one of the worst hit nations.
There is a fair amount of under-counting everywhere, due to testing backlogs, but this is a deliberate deception.
To confirm how deliberate, actual data is proportional across all centers to reported data, just different in size.
Tehran has had 8,120 deaths, but otherwise cases and deaths are widely distributed across the nation.
The fact is that Iran saw huge increases in cases, despite stringent lock-downs. It has battled to tame the virus.
But then, haven't we all?
